HOW TO HAVE 1000 LIKES ON YOUR INSTAGRAM PHOTOS

I offer an article a little different from the others on this blog. Here, I'm not going to talk to you about photography per se, but only about Instagram. I use this platform a lot. It was on Instagram that I started to publish my photos 3 years ago, and I did a lot of tests there to make my account grow. In recent times, I have noticed that Instagram has changed a lot with its new algorithm, as everyone will tell me. On the one hand, I observe that it has become more difficult to get likes compared to before. On the other hand, I note that more and more people stand out and get more than 1000 likes with each of their photos. I wonder: How do I get more likes on Instagram? How to reach more than 1000 likes?

HYPOTHESES

Before embarking on this subject which is difficult to deal with in a clear-cut manner, it is advisable to make assumptions. Indeed, Instagram does not reveal the secrets of its algorithm, so we can only make assumptions. This article will, therefore, be based on my personal experience, and fueled with the experience of other users, through reading other articles on the web.

I would say that on Instagram there are 6 categories of accounts:

1.       Ordinary people: the majority of Instagram accounts
2.       The average people turned stars: accounts that have successfully engaged and obtained + 50K Followers are examples that I follow and admire
3.       Influencers: they are also known on other platforms, including YouTube and their blog
4.       “Hubs”: accounts that serve as a platform for sharing photos from other accounts
5.       Celebrities: like Kim Kardashian
6.       Marks
When you're in the lambda category, you'd like to grow your account, but it's not that simple. Either you have a very innovative concept that engages a lot without you having to do anything like or you have a more mundane account and it's more difficult to stand out.
I hypothesize that like the majority of accounts on Instagram, you are (for now !!) a banal account. WAIT don't take it wrong! I put myself in this category too. However, by visiting accounts, I often see people who have banal photos precisely, and who nevertheless have more than 1000 likes on each of their images! I wonder: how are they damn it?! What is the secret technique for getting more likes on Instagram?
I did my little investigation and I present to you below what I found!

THE 10% RULE

According to an article I read on the new Instagram algorithm, there is a limit expressed as a percentage of the number of people seeing your post in their news feed. According to this site, this limit would be 10%. If you have Buy 10k Instagram followers, I made these statistics on my account to see the percentage of people seeing my posts compared to the number of subscribers. I currently have 4,300 subscribers, and my posts are viewed on average by 1,400 people in their news feed. So that's an average of 32%.
Unlike the article that talks about the 10% rule, I don't think the number is the same for all accounts. It should vary depending on the number of subscribers we have. The fact is that there is a limit, that's for sure. Otherwise, it would be impossible for all my photos to have the same number of views when they deal with different subjects and use various and varied hashtags. I guess the limit is always less than 40%, but in short, it is not the most important.
In fact, what is important is not to know the exact percentage of limit, but to understand the mechanics. What about the remaining percentages? How to appear in the news feed of the remaining 90% or 68%?
Instagram will decide to show them your photo if it proves to be successful at launch. It all depends on the commitment of the first minutes of publication. If your post is engaging a lot, with a high number of likes and comments, your publication will be shown to the rest of your followers.
Now that you understand the principle, you will see that a lot of smart guys have tamed Instagram rules to put them to their advantage.
